Natural Skincare: Desert Essence Thoroughly Clean Face Wash Review



A few months ago I was looking for a new face wash and I came across the Dessert Essence Thoroughly Clean Face Wash in my local Revital Health store. This product contains a lot of naturally derived ingredients and it claims to have no parabens, no artificial fragrances/dyes, no petroleum, no mineral oil, no sulphates, no PEGs, no PPG, no MEA, no glycols..... the list literally goes on. The Desert Essence brand is ideal for those who are interested in using products that are free from harmful ingredients.

It costs £5.99 for 120ml and £9.99 for 250ml and I think this is reasonable because a little bit of this product goes a long way. I have been using the 120ml bottle for around three months and I am only half way through the product. The face wash has a watery consistency and it produces a very light lather. It thoroughly cleans my face without leaving it feeling too dry afterwards. My skin tends to be quite oily and this face wash helps keep the oiliness at bay. I really like this face wash and I have repurchased it in the bigger size because I think it will be one of my staple products. 


The ingredients are:

Castile soap (water (aqua), cocos nucifera (coconut) oil, tall oil, potassium hydroxide), glycerin, melaleuca alternifolia (tea tree) leaf oil*, chamomilla recutita (matricaria) flower extract, hydrastis canadensis (glodenseal) root extract (awapuhi), fucus vesiculosus extract (bladderwrack), cymbopogon martini oil (palmarosa), citrus aurantium amara (bitter orange) peel oil, lavandual angustifolia (lavender) oil, chamomilla recutita (matricaria) flower oil, calendula officinalis flower oil, callitris introtropica wood oil (blue cypress) *Eco-Harvest

Tosin Cooks: Stir Fry





This past weekend I put some ingredients together and made some delicious stir fry. I like cooking stir fry because it is quite simple to make and there are many different ways of doing it. 



What I Used:
1 onion (chopped), 1 bell pepper (chopped), 1 table spoon of all purpose seasoning, 1 table spoon of mixed herbs, a dash of salt and pepper, 1 sachet of hoi sin stir fry sauce, 4 nests of fine egg noodles, 240g of chicken chunks, 1 stock cube and a table spoon of oil.

Method: Serves 2-4
1. Place the oil and the chicken in a wok on medium heat and add the all purpose seasoning, mixed herbs, salt, pepper and the stock cube. Stir regularly for 5 mins.
2. Whilst the chicken is cooking, heat up the noodles in a separate pan with water for 3-5 minutes until it is soft. Once the noodles have reached the desired softness drain the water from the pan.
3. Add the chopped pepper and onions to the wok and continue stirring for 2-3 minutes. Then add the hoi sin sauce and continue stirring for 1-2 minutes.
4. Add the drained noodles to the wok and mix it together with the sauce until it is spread evenly.
5. It should now be ready to serve!
